This blog started out as a story of the journey Cassidy will take as she gets her sisterlocks on Oct 9th. But, as I began to post, and get comments, there is so much more to say..to talk about. Family, Black and White, God, love, adoption, the soul and somehow God brings all those things together here..
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of times it takes your breath away...

She is extra cute!
Oh my GOODNESS... You guys are so cute. I wish my parents had taught me to love my naps, opps sorry see the brainwashing coming out, CURLS, like you are teaching your daughter.
My mom and sister both have what they call "good hair." I thank the lord for my Nana who helped me transition from my perm to a press and curl. I know that isn't exactly embracing our natural texture, but she was fairly old school in many ways, so that was the start.
I quit perming my hair when I was about 12 and just rocked braids. I didn't get another one until senior year when my mom wanted me to show off my long pretty permed hair.
So I totally commend you on teaching your baby girl to love her hair. And I commend Ms Cass on an excellent choice in deciding on Sisterlocks...
