it. The blood drained suddenly from his face and lips, leaving
them livid. I saw fear, then a wild horror in his eyes. He stood
swaying. Then his knees gave way and he toppled. He fell from his
height in the
air where I stood gazing at him--fell forward on his face, his
Titanic length spread all across the top of this rocky landscape! For
a moment I did not move.

steps, and attempted to esca

at the smaller of the presses.
A huge figure was sprawled over the table in the corner. In the air hung

the delicious smell of printer's ink and the clank and chug of the
press. Bobby stood in the doorway some time. Finally the boy said
something
to the man at the table. The latter looked up, then arose and came
forward. He was
of immense frame, but gaunt and caved-in from much stooping and a
consumptive tendency. His massive bony shoulders hung forward; his
head was carried in advance. In character this head was like that of a
Jove condemned

through centuries to long hours
in a dark, unwholesome atmosphere--the grand, square, bony structure,
the thick, upstanding hair, the bushy, steady eyebrows, the heavy beard.
But the cheeks beneath the beard were
sunken; the eyes in the square-cut
caverns were kind and gentle--and very weary. "I want to see if I can
get some ink of you," requested Bobby, holding out his little tin box.
Mr.

Daggett took the
box without replying; and, opening
it, tested with his finger the quality and colour of what it had
contained. "I guess so," said he. He led the way to one of the shelves
and opened a can as big as a bucket. Bobby gasped. "My!" he cried; "will
you ever use all that?" Mr. Daggett nodded, and, dipping a broad-bladed
knife, brought up, on merely its point, enough
to fill Bobby's tin box. "How much
is it?" asked Bobby. "Let's see, you're Jack Orde's little boy, aren't
you?" asked Dagge

Where does the time go?

I was inspired by another mama who blogs to find sometime today to sit and catch up on where the kids are at, what they are up to and just life.

2009 was a difficult year for us. A lot went on, a lot changed and a lot became more difficult. That said, God never left our mist. He supplied our every need and many of our wants... always faithful.
We entered into the new year strong, but with a few HUGE hurdles to cross. The end of 2009 showed me so clearly what wonderful, giving friends we have that love us so very much. I am so thankful! I have had to learn what it means to be humble and receive when my heart always wants to be the giver...

Dec 27th brought about a 16 year old at our house! Richard is a real teenager( 13, 14 and 15 are "young teens", and I have to say this is probably my favorite age after infancy!! He has his moments, but for the most part he is so awesome to be around. He is very involved in our church's youth program, which is where he met his now girlfriend Erica. She is such a love, we couldn't be happier about the two of them and how they are handling their relationship.
Football training just started back up, so he is back to the grind with the team lifting and working out 4 days a week and is meeting with a math tutor at home weekly trying to fill in some gaps I think I left when homeschooling him for 9 years! Seems like he is so busy anymore, I wish he was home more. It scares me to think that I only have 2 short years left with him here full time before college... OK I am not even going to go there!! Next I will write about Jarrod, where he is, what he's up to etc...., I think I have to take each kid one at at time with this old brain of mine :))
